Project Manager – Uppsala

About the role:

AAC Clyde Space is at the forefront of small satellite technology and services. We are continuing to expand and are looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Uppsala.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in project management within a technical environment who is looking to take on new challenges in the New Space industry. You will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working on exciting missions and products with demanding schedules.

The role is responsible for leading allocated customer delivery and R&D projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery against objectives in terms of cost, technical scope, contractual requirements, and schedule. You will work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams, while contributing to the continued growth and improvement of our project management practices.

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering innovative satellite systems and space solutions to customers worldwide.

The role is primarily site-based in Uppsala, with flexibility for part-time hybrid working depending on business needs. Occasional travel will be required to meet customers, partners, and attend relevant events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects throughout their full lifecycle in line with company processes and standards
  • Deliver projects successfully against scope, cost, quality, and schedule objectives
  • Manage customer relationships and ensure alignment with contractual requirements
  • Coordinate internal resources and collaborate with engineering, production, and commercial teams
  • Manage suppliers, subcontractors, and external partners as required
  • Contribute to project planning, including resource allocation and scheduling
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication across all stakeholders
  • Provide regular reporting, KPIs, and project status updates
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Support continuous improvement of project management processes and ways of working

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a technical discipline
  • Proven experience in project management within a technology-intensive environment
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including cost control, scheduling, and risk management
  • Experience managing customer and stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic and demanding environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle complex technical discussions
  • Commercial awareness, including understanding of contracts and project financials
  • Experience managing suppliers and subcontractors
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and project planning software (e.g. MS Project or similar)
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal

Desirable Skills:

  • Project management certification (e.g. PMI, PPS, APM or similar)
  • Experience working in the space industry or other high-tech sectors
  • Knowledge of different project lifecycle methodologies (e.g. waterfall, agile)
  • Passion for continuous improvement and process development
