Head of Contracts – UK, Sweden or Netherlands
About this role:
AAC Clyde Space is seeking a Head of Contracts, an opportunity to join our global team. You can be based either in the UK, Sweden or Netherlands.
Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer/Deputy CEO, this role is responsible for customer and supplier agreements support the company’s strategic objectives while meeting the legal, regulatory, and commercial standards typical of the New Space sector, with both commercial and institutional customers.
We are seeking an experienced Head of Contracts to lead contractual governance and negotiations across our international space and aerospace activities. This opportunity is ideal for a professional ready to step into a senior role with broader responsibility and strategic impact. You will closely collaborate with executive leadership, business lines and external legal counsel to structure and manage complex contractual frameworks that support our globally wide mission-critical technologies and long-term programmes.
The role requires flexibility, including occasional travel and out‑of‑hours support, in line with customer and business priorities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead negotiation, drafting, and management of contracts with customers, partners, and suppliers across the space and aerospace ecosystem
- Manage and administer Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and other confidentiality arrangements related to technology development and partnerships
- Coordinate with external legal counsel when specialised legal support is required
- Lead internal efforts in the event of contractual disputes or claims involving customers or suppliers in line with company processes
- Establish and maintain strong contract management and governance processes
- Provide contractual guidance and commercial support to business lines and the CEO in support of new programmes, partnerships, and bids
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft software.
- Proficient in English, both verbally and written.
Skills required:
- Legal background, ideally with experience in commercial or international contract law
- Previous experience as a Contracts Officer, Contract Manager, or similar role within the highly regulated environment such as space, aerospace, defence, or advanced technology sectors
- Understanding of contractual frameworks common in the space sector (institutional programmes, international partnerships, technology development agreements) is highly meritorious
- Evidences proven track record of developing and maintaining customer and stakeholder relationships
- Experience in working in a global, multi-site environment, collaborating with teams across different countries and functions
- Risk identification and ability to drive plans to mitigate against those risks with deep commercial understanding
- Highly organised with strong contract governance capabilities
- Take ownership of complex challenges and driving them to resolution with integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with the ability to work effectively with engineers, programme managers, executives, and legal advisors
Skills desired:
- Previous experience of working with small/medium sized companies
