Electronics Production Engineer – Glasgow

About this role:

We are looking for an Electronics Production Engineer to join our busy team, based in Glasgow to support our production activities.

The role will take responsibility for continuous improvement and efficiencies, specifically on electronic subsystems and assemblies for our small satellite products, within product manufacturing, to cost, quality, safety and time parameters. The role will be predominantly site-based from AAC Clyde Space’s Glasgow office given the nature of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

· Deliver work tasks and assignments in accordance to required standards and compliance requirements

· Identify production needs for current and new products under development

· Review designs and ensure all product and system requirements are accounted for from a manufacture and test perspective

· Identify required tooling, fixtures and other facilities for production in line with business plan

· Work to deduce variability by providing standard work methods and instructions

· Generate and update production documentation (manufacturing instructions, test procedures etc.)

· Guide the Production team on best practice for component assembly, test and troubleshooting.

· Provide technical input to develop corrective actions and resolve non-conformances

· Identify efficiency opportunities to ensure quality, reduce cost and waste in line with standards

 

Skills required:

· Relevant HND college qualification/degree or equivalent work experience

· Experience working in a highly regulated industry such as; aerospace, energy or defence

· High level of practical `hands-on’ application of engineering within industry; inclusive of using lab test equipment to debug electronic circuits

· Evidence of experience in designing and effectively implementing process improvements

· Demonstrable understanding of key factors that contribute towards production efficiency (cost, quality, safety and time).

· Strong interpersonal skills with the drive to complete tasks on schedule

· Ability to organize self and prioritise workload within highly demanding, dynamic environment

· Competent IT skills including Microsoft software

· Proficient in English, both verbally and written

 

 

Skills desired:

· Experience with using schematic capture and PCB layout design software

· Knowledge of process for managing non-conformance and engineering change

· Experience in the build and test of spacecraft components and sub-systems

· Relevant space industry experience

· Previous experience working for small-medium sized companies
