AIT Engineer – Delft

About this role:

We are looking for an AIT Engineer to join our Delft team in the Netherlands.  This opportunity is ideal for someone looking for responsibility and development opportunities of a technical nature in a dynamic, fast paced working environment with exciting projects and challenging schedules. You will be keen to drive our production capabilities in the aerospace sector.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of cost, quality, safety, and timelines. You will be focused on continuous improvement, improving efficiencies in product manufacturing as well as ensure quality assurance within the production process

This role is hands-on, site-based role as it requires assembling, integrating, and testing of our products and subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) activities, ensuring adherence project schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Develop and maintain AIT procedures, plans, and documentation, including test reports and lessons learned.
  • Perform mechanical and environmental testing (vibration, thermal, EMC), analyze results, and manage non-conformances through NCRs.
  • Conduct inspections on incoming and outgoing components, generate detailed reports, ensuring compliance with technical and quality requirements, including component verification, dimensional checks, functional testing.
  • Drive continuous improvement across AIT processes, tools, and quality assurance practices.
  • Manage cleanroom and lab facilities, including inventory, equipment, and consumables, ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Provide technical support to engineering teams during design, integration, and validation phases.
  • Train and support cleanroom personnel, promoting best practices in handling and assembly.

 

Skills required:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience working in a clean room environment
  • High level of practical hands-on experience in Assembly, Manufacturing, and Integration of complex systems
  • Some knowledge or experience with electronics
  • Experience in system and sub-system testing including test design, procedure definitions, procurement, assembly, execution, analysis & reporting
  • Detail-oriented, focused, and meticulous
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborate within a multicultural team
  • Proficient in MS software and fluent in English, both spoken and written

 

Skills desired:

  • Degree in Aerospace, Systems, Mechanical and/or Electronic engineering
  • Previous experience in the build and test of spacecraft components and sub-systems
  • Relevant space industry experience
  • A knowledge or awareness of ESA ECSS standards (or equivalent international standards) relating to verification and testing
  • Previous experience working with small/medium sized companies
