Software Intern – Delft

About this role:

We are looking for a temporary intern to work with us for around 10 months to develop user interfaces and test scripts to control our products.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who has a good knowledge of Python and completing their masters.  They will also have working knowledge of electronics to understand the operation of products.  The role is site-based given the nature of the work.

You will enjoy working part of a small team in a dynamic working environment.  You will have desire to learn and share your expertise while adding value to our current ways of working. You will not be afraid of challenges and happy to get involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing user interfaces to view telemetry from our hardware and send telecommands to hardware
  • Developing refactor testing and validation scripts that can be used for calibration and testing of our products
  • Develop the associated documentation and manuals
  • Support the wider team as and when required

Skills required:

  • Passion for working with the space industry
  • Working towards a relevant degree in Engineering or Software
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in working with Python
  • Good knowledge of version control tools and associated best practice
  • Working knowledge of electronics
  • Ability to organise self and prioritise workload in dynamic environment with tight deadlines
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft software
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and written

Skills desired:

  • Ability and/or familiarity in working with Linux
  • Understanding major components of a satellite and operating conditions in space
  • Understanding of the major components of a satellite and operating conditions in outer space.
