
Material Planner – Uppsala
About the Material Planner role:
As a material requirements planner, you have a responsibility to coordinate the material flow from customer order to delivery both within Sweden and abroad. You are responsible for creating manufacturing orders, planning stock balances and scheduling services regarding cleanrooms and production. You are the go-to person regarding production material used in production and ensure just in time delivery of consumables and personal safety equipment.
Your main tasks:
- Source and approve component parts, services, equipment, and sub-contractors to ensure on-time, reliable, good quality and cost-competitive supply of parts and services.
- Plan, source and negotiate and procure raw material and components for assembly.
- Using Lean Manufacturing principles (Lean Logistics) and industry best practices to develop and implement lean material flows and inventory buffering to ensure uninterrupted material replenishment from the supply base to our facilities and from the warehouse to the production floor.
- Evaluate vendor performance and foster continued supplier improvements. Lead the resolution of quality and commercial issues with the supplier base.
- Plan and manage raw material inventories for continuous manufacturing.
- Actively participate and contribute to improve team performance metrics.
- Demonstrates familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures in sourcing industrial components, assemblies, and services.
- Works under general supervision from the head of production; whilst independently demonstrating creativity and initiative to proactively resolve issues to improve service for internal and external customers.
- Strong teamwork, planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication (listening, verbal and written) skills to manage interactions with suppliers and internal teams.
- Strong computer literacy (using ERP system such as SAP/Jeves and document tool such as MS Office).
- Global sourcing experience in electronics or electronic parts is a definitive plus.
