AOCS Intern – Delft
About this role:
We are looking for a temporary intern to work with us for around 6 months to develop a simulation environment for AOCS/GNC algorithms standalone and hardware-in-the-loop testing
This opportunity is ideal for someone who has a good knowledge of space engineering fundamentals and completing their masters.
The role is site-based given the nature of the work.
You will enjoy working part of a small team in a dynamic working environment. You will have desire to learn and share your expertise while adding value to our current ways of working. You will not be afraid of challenges and happy to get involved.
It is an exciting opportunity to be part of existing projects and missions where your work literally ends up in space!
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve the simulation environment (orbit and rotational dynamics)
- Develop new algorithms for modeling the space environment
- Extensive testing
- Support the wider team as and when required
Skills required:
- Passion for working with the space industry
- Working towards a Masters degree in Space, Aerospace Engineering or similar
- Knowledge of space engineering fundamentals including spacecraft dynamics, orbital mechanics, space physics, space environment
- Competent user of Python and MATLAB/Simulink
- Capability and willingness to write documentation and test plans
- Demonstrate ability to apply test methodology to debug
- Ability to organise self and prioritise workload in dynamic environment with tight deadlines
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft software
- Proficient in English, both verbally and written
Skills desired:
- Previous experience with AOCS/GNC systems or Mission Analysis
- Experience with Hardware
